Adult Substance Use Disorder & Dual Inpatient Detox Unit
20 bed capacity
Average Length of Stay 3-4 days
Team consists of Medical Director, various attending Psychiatrists; Nursing Staff includes: Nurse Manager, RNs, Psych Associates and Behavioral Assistants; 3 CTC’s (Social Workers), Spiritual Care specialist. Other specialties utilized based upon individual patient needs.
Unit 3A admission to the unit are those persons 18 years and older who require 24-hour detoxification, medical stabilization and psychiatric stabilization provided by the inpatient setting. This is a fast moving unit, having several admissions and discharges daily each shift. Once the patient is out of detoxification, they are referred to outpatient step down facilities to continue to work on their therapeutic needs. Unit 3A has several members on its team that have enjoyed working this unit for more than 30 years; they have a vast amount of knowledge in this unique setting and enjoy sharing their passion with new staff members!
Responsibilities/Job Description
Assess, Plan, Implement and evaluate nursing care to ensure quality patient care in accordance with the missions and philosophy of Fairview Behavioral Services. Behavioral experience preferred.
Physical demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting-max 35lbs, push/pull-max. 35 lbs, balance, stooping/crouching, grasping, writing, finger dexterity/keyboarding, reaching, color vision, operate machinery, physical presence at work
Mental Demands: Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, supervisory skills, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration, ability to work independent, multiple concurrent tasks, frequent deadlines, organizational skills, ability to collaborate with others, express ideas orally, remember and apply information, understand/follow basic instruction
Qualifications
Current RN Licensure and BLS required; 1 year Behavioral experience preferred within last 5 years.
Preferred: BSN, at least 1 year of nursing experience in behavorial health in the last 3 years.

Vaccination Update
As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the wellbeing of our teams and to provide a safe and healthy environment for the patients and communities we serve, all Fairview employees will be required to receive both an annual flu vaccination and the COVID-19 vaccination series. Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before October 31, 2021.Beginning August 9, 2021, any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date. Annual flu vaccinations are also required before the employment start date for employees who begin employment during the flu season.Accommodations requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.
