For more information about GMS, visit or any one of our subsidiary company websites.Primary Responsibilities:Manage Employee Onboarding Process & Maintenance of Employee RecordsResponsible for administering and enforcing pre-employment screening activities as necessary, including: drug testing, background checks, motor vehicle reports (MVR), and physicalsConduct New Hire Orientation; set expectations, explanation of company culture, benefits, and resourcesComplete E-Verify and New Hire Reporting (state specific)Create and maintain employee files for all new hires: Personnel file, Confidential/Medical File, I-9 fileProvide Employee Relations ServicesAdvise and coach supervisors at all levels in the organizationTake action in the event of concerns regarding general work environment, morale and other employee issues, address interpersonal conflicts between employees and be a confidential and unbiased sounding board for work-related issues.Provide qualified opinions and guidance/direction on daily HR matters.Participation in performance and disciplinary meetings, including termination meetings as required.Monitor compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.PayrollProcess New Hires, Rehires & Terminations in payroll system, UltiPro by Ultimate SoftwareReview time and attendance for accuracy and make adjustments when necessaryTrack & schedule vacation, sick leave, floating holidays, etc.Provide payroll data to GMS for processing on weekly basisEnter/edit employee deductions, including: health, 401k, and garnishments/liens, support orders, etc.)FMLA Compliance & Short Term Disability AdministrationTrack FMLA eligibility and leave time; responsible for employee notification and impact on benefitsNotify GMS Benefits team of employee short term disability cases; track leave of absence and provide weekly status updatesBenefits CoordinationReview Benefits packages with new hiresCollect and process benefits enrollments and changes, including 401kBenefits Education with employees, particularly 401kManage Open Enrollment: communication, distribution of forms and documents, collection of OE formsWork with GMS Benefits team to review Benefit Plans in coordination with broker to deliver quality, comprehensive benefit package to employees at an affordable costREQUIREMENTS:3 or more years of HR experience required with at least one year of payroll experience strongly preferred; distribution, manufacturing or industrial experience preferredBachelor’s Degree in HR or related field requiredStrong analytical and problem solving skills, with a bias towards simple solutionsExcellent inter-personal and communication skills; both written and verbalAble to make independent decisions, but understands the need for input and alignmentProficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office and ability to analyze and manipulate data in excelPhysical Demands:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80%Occasionally, will move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.Will frequently communicate with management and coworkers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.Must be able to assess documents, spreadsheets, financial statements, and etc.Must be able to move any files weighing up to 10 pounds for audits or etc.Constantly works in indoor office environmentMental Demands:Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasksMust be able to manage stress level depending on projects and de
