ABOUT HOLIDAY INN & SUITES OTTAWA- KANATA:

THE ROLE:
As part of an award winning team, it is the responsibility of the Sales Manager to effectively carry out all sales research and activities within the assigned sales territory or segment, to achieve the goals established by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
ACTIVITIES:
· Research market in order to identify potential sources of business within the market segment(s) assigned
· Solicit business through pre-planned personal sales calls, mailers, marketplaces, attendance at receptions, promotions, telephone calls, etc.
· Follow up on all sales activities
· Accurately confirms all bookings, quotes and negotiates rates while adhering to hotel rate structure, credit policies and general hotel and corporate policies and procedures
· Adhere to activity levels pre-determined by the Director of Sales and Marketing
· Recommend ways and means of maximization of hotel revenue through sales strategies
· Responsible for full market knowledge as it relates to competitors, with respect to product, rate, positioning and policies
· Attend trade shows/marketplaces as per the Marketing plan or as the need arises
· Submit sales reports to Director of Sales and Marketing, accurately outlining all sales activities
· Participate in formulation of the annual Marketing Plan by offering market research, history and strategies
· Attend all Sales Meetings
· Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing
Support for Catering Sales Manager
· Negotiates guest room rates, food and beverage services, menu planning, meeting room rental and function space.
· Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities, entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures
· Maintain accurate weekly meeting minutes and complete required month end revenue reporting
· Actively participates in weekly sales team meetings and strategy sessions
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing OR College Diploma in
Hospitality and Hotel Management or equivalent.
A minimum of two years Sales specific hotel operations experience or a
proven track record in a related field to Hospitality and Administration.

Working Conditions:
Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment.
May be required to work weekends and holidays on occasion as needed
