Responsibilities
This is an expereincef design position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in both civil and structural design and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
Under the direction of the Civil/Structural Project Lead, this position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing civil and/or structural drawings and 3D models
Challenging assignments that include the design of civil and/or structural systems, and investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of mechanical design issues
Utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate grading, utility piping and foundation plans
Act as the Civil/Structural design team lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated civil and/or structural design model
Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely design
Independently plan and execute design deliverables such as site layouts, foundation plans, grading plans, structural layouts and connection details
There may be the opportunity to conduct field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities
Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers
Qualifications
2 year Associates (AA) degree, minimum of 12 years progressive responsible experience, and/or equivalent technical/trade school degree plus additional years of progressive experience as a designer in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy)
Detailed physical design experience in the development of civil site plans, utility piping systems, grading plans, foundation plans, structural layouts and connection details
Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D models
Experience in the review of civil/structural design requirements, including outlines and interface points, and coordinating and developing the associated deliverables
Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the plant design process
Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
