Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA is looking for an Associate Human Factors Engineers to join The BCA Airplane Level Engineering Integration Human Factors (HF) team, in BCA Engineering Core. You will work with new product development, various commercial airplane programs, other core engineering functions and the Boeing enterprise to develop, support and implement human factors engineering excellence in BCA. The position offers the opportunity to influence the implementation of Human Factors in Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Support the development of HF requirements, design practices, airplane design, HF training materials and HF processes and tools.
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
2 or more years’ related engineering work experience.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
MS in Engineering or Psychology with an emphasis in Human Factors
ABET Accreditation is preferred.
Experience with CATIA Human Modeling, other human factors analysis tools and DOORS is advantageous.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
