Description:Our Operating Room and PACU Suite perform approximately 50-60 cases daily and 18,000 surgical procedures annually. The Post Anesthesia Care Unit has 25 patient bays, a negative pressure isolation room and a procedure room. Additionally, a block room with four patient bays is available for preoperative regional anesthesia delivery. Recently upgraded, we provide an aseptic environment and state of the art instrumentation. The surgical suite is available to schedule inpatient and outpatients for major, minor and emergency surgical procedures 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Our specialties include cardiac, vascular and endovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, Genitourinary and GYN surgery, Reconstructive surgery, ENT, neurological including neuronavigation procedures, general surgery , orthopedic including major spine procedures, oral reconstructive surgery, breast surgery and reconstruction with sentinel node mapping, robotic and bariatrics surgery. Awarded Excellence in Healthcare Award by CNY Business Journal for “Surgical Facility of the Year”, having the only operating room in CNY with a negative pressure ante-room for customized safety in complex patient scenarios. In addition we have received the 2018 Women’s Choice Award in 3 of our surgical service lines and 3 stars from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons in all five categories.
The Clinical Educator is responsible for designing, evaluating, updating and implementing new and current nursing education needs and orientation. Our educational professionals act as both advisers, role models and mentors for the staff, assisting them in their journeys from novice to expert. They exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, have excellent communication abilities and have in-depth, comprehensive knowledge in their field of expertise. In addition, the education team assist with quality improvement, data collection and supply chain management. �

Prepare, deliver and supervise clinical education and orientation.
Maintain expertise in the field of nursing
Assist with ongoing competency and preceptor education.
Consult to recommend best practice.
Data collection and reporting to support quality outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
Utilizing the Nursing Process, plans, directs and supervises the care of patients in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.�

Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Minimum of four years’ experience in nursing. Recent formal and informal clinical and teaching experience. Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree accepted with demonstrated clinical experience.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
