Admission Application Readers will work from November 1 through the second week of March, with the bulk of their work concentrated during the period between early January and mid-February. With the exception of the occasional, scheduled evening or weekend commitment, all application reading takes place between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A more detailed breakdown of the anticipated work schedule is as follows:
November 1, 2, & 4: Required training from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time
November 5: Required training from 10-11 a.m. Eastern Time
The week of November 15: Approximately 5-10 hours of application reading
December 13-21: Approximately 10-20 hours of application reading
Late November/early December (dates to be determined): Two 8-hour days of required committee attendance
Early January through the second week of February: An average of 20-35 hours per week of application reading
Mid-February through mid-March: A total of 10-15 hours of optional committee attendance
Qualifications
Familiarity with the nature and aims of a selective liberal arts college, as well as a bachelor’s degree are required. One to three years of application reading experience at a selective college or university is strongly preferred. Experience in a higher education, secondary school or other relevant educational setting is welcome. Strong organizational skills, exceptional written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and daily access to a strong internet connection are essential.
Admission Application Readers may work remotely but must reside in Massachusetts or Connecticut to be eligible for the position. The hourly rate starts at $20 and will be commensurate to experience.
Review of resumes will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Temporary work is subject to the needs of the College, and as such, may change at any time.
