We’re now looking for a full time (Permanent) Environmental / Planning Consultant to join us. Working within our dedicated team based in Gisborne, as the successful candidate you will work on a range of innovative projects across New Zealand and will assist us in achieving our purpose to make sustainability happen by balancing the needs of land, people and water.
Description:
The opportunity provides a unique experience for the right candidate where we are considering professionals from either an Environmental / Planning background who is keen to work on a variety of projects across disciplines.
We’re particularly keen to hear from you if you’re client focused, have the ability to be logical, detail oriented and highly motivated. Your communication skills will be excellent, and your aptitude for building and maintaining great relationships with clients will be second to none. You will have a keen interest in RMA planning, and most importantly, have a willingness to work collaboratively to deliver outstanding projects. You’ll also bring a great attitude with you, and will like to have a laugh because although we take our commitment to the business and the environment seriously, we still like to have a lot of fun along the way.
You will be able to build rapport quickly with our small and close-knit team in Gisborne and this will ultimately suit someone who is seeking autonomy within their career and be a true team player!

As you may service the team nationally, our site visits may be off the beaten track, so a willingness to travel, whether it be by electric car, 4WD or flying, is preferred. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a mixture of projects including, policy development, undertaking planning due diligence, assisting local councils with processing resource consents and acquiring resource consents for a range of development projects. Demonstrated experience in local government and private sector development projects is definitely preferred.
