PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

A-1 Machine and Welding is looking for a production coordinator to join the team. This is a full time permanent position. Wages dependent on experience.

As a production coordinator, you will be working at the front desk of the shop and will be the first point of contact for customers (phone or in person).

Welding experience or experience in the steel fabrication industry is mandatory. Preference will be given to those with basic estimating experience. On your resume, please highlight welding, steel fabrication, and/or estimating experience.

Requirements:

· Computer Skills

· Must be able to stand for multiple hours during the day.

· Welding experience/experience in steel fabrication industry is mandatory, as production coordinator does labor estimates for small projects.

· Estimating experience – the candidate needs to be able to provide price estimates for customers (based on material sales and billable hours)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication

· Answer incoming calls from customers in a friendly and courteous manner, able to ask the right questions and determine solutions for customers

· Direct calls to other parties when appropriate

· Answer emails from suppliers and customers

· Order inventory from suppliers via email and telephone

· Coordinate work with a small team of skilled fabricators

Sales

· Over the counter sales of steel and aluminum products

· Sales of custom manufactured equipment

· Consult, problem solve, help, and give advice to customers about their steel and welding projects (in person, phone and email)

· Estimate time and price of materials for customers’ small projects.

Administrative

· Receive orders and invoice customers

· Receive customer payments in person and through the phone, inputting transactions into POS machine and managing cash box

· Schedule work for the machine shop

· Respond to emails and call back customers in a timely manner
