We’re looking for an innovative Buyer to join our team to continue our success procuring the best materials.

As Buyer, you will purchase materials according to required manufacturing forecast, technical specification, price, delivery schedule and terms for Electrification business area in Henderson, New Zealand.

Reporting to the Procurement and Logistics Manager, you will provide assistance to the wider business by ensuring that all purchasing activities align with corporate policies and procedures and by providing relevant market information.

Your responsibilities

• Purchasing materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms, negotiating with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, terms and conditions
• Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures
• Overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues
• Identifying and qualifying new suppliers together with supplier quality and engineering specialists
• Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price

Your background

• Bachelors or equivalent qualification in supply chain management is preferred
• 2 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing and similar roles
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Good MS Office, SAP and IT skills with Lean Six Sigma experience is an advantage (eg. KANBAN)
• Prioritizing and aligning of priorities in a changing environment
• Full driver’s license required
