The Associate Director of Market Access Insights within GMABI plays a significant role in shaping market access strategies for key AbbVie Ex-U.S. brands. The Associate Director will be responsible to support key AbbVie brands with particular emphasis on Access in key markets. The Associate Director executes primary market research projects that identify payor stakeholder opportunities and threats, influences the development of market access strategies and tactics, enables organizational learning from ad-hoc analyses, and ensures alignment of insights with brands. The Associate Director has knowledge of the overall market access environment. Combined with strong market research and business skills, the Associate Director influences patient and HCP access to AbbVie brands through business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Advisor to the Market Access team. The Associate Director is responsible for developing and providing research insights that influence market access strategy through fact-based customer insights and business understanding
Deliver customer insights through primary market research to understand complex payor dynamics that drive payor access
Demonstrate strong understanding of healthcare environments of key Ex-US markets and AbbVie therapeutic areas to identify and proactively address opportunities and threats
Identify the strategic and financial implications of market dynamics related to both existing and proposed policy proposals and regulations affecting the broader industry and AbbVie
Build highly collaborative relationships with internal Global Market Access and Pricing (GMAP) organization, key Ex-US markets (countries/affiliates), and the broader Global Market Analytics and Business Insights (GMABI) team
Influence AbbVie GMAP towards developing appropriate market access strategies and capabilities in place for our key products

Leading the delivery of brand specific market access insights across key AbbVie brands and responding to specific issues and market trends for Access stakeholders
Demonstrating a strong understanding of primary research methodologies and ability to synthesize insights into compelling narratives
Is proficient at data analytics, supplier and stakeholder management, and leading custom research programs to deliver compelling learnings
Responsible for leading the development and communication to leadership of market access issues requiring a broad range of expertise in key markets

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: Market Research, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Decision Sciences, Operations Research, Engineering, Health Economics, or Applied Mathematics; MBA or Advanced Degree Preferred
Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in market research and analytics
Minimum of 2 years of market access experience in Global/US market access market research
Strong story telling skills; ability to distill complex information synthesized into concise and impactful messages and communications

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
