ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is responsible Cloud/DevOps Engineers are responsible for providing continuous cloud development and operations including automation as well as assisting with cloud environment implementation, configuration, migration, and re-factor activities. Helps set up and run tooling including CI/CD and IaC implementation
DUTIES
This Senior Dev Ops Engineer role requires strong knowledge of Terraform, PowerShell, Ansible, Docker, Python, Azure, AWS Devops, Git or similar technologies. You will be a “go to” person within your team, building, expanding and operating automation capabilities that are core to our successful, efficient operation. You will automate against literally thousands of assets in the largest sovereign cloud service platform in New Zealand. This is a challenging & rewarding role in a complex environment.
You will be a key contributor to the operational excellence of your team, maintaining and supporting current environments, provide escalation and working on technology incidents. You will share your technical expertise to mentor your peers & juniors in your discipline whilst contributing to the organisation’s security and governance practices. You will champion & evangelise DevOps & automation to the wide business and clients.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ Azure/AWS Cloud DevOps Engineers experience
- Excellent knowledge of DevOps tools including Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Octopus, Git, Jenkins, Bittbucket or similar.
- Experience in platform-focused /understanding of architecture
- Experience in Cloud native and application design e.g. Micro-Services, API
- Any programming skills, e.g. Python, .Net Node, Java, C#
- CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Code Pipeline, or similar)
- Familiar or keen to learn with Agile methodologies
- Stakeholder management, communications and reporting
