Your Role

Your role will involve the full software development life cycle of a broad range of tools for automated analysis of diverse and challenging field data. Your work will deliver invaluable analytics to a wide range of commercial clients and industries. You’ll be working closely with a group of experienced software engineers, machine learning specialists, and robotics experts, guiding you in the development of our cutting-edge products.

Main Role

• Develop software for data manipulation, management, analysis, and representation;
• Contribute to the development and delivery of commercial data products; and
• Assist with data processing and all aspects of executing and improving our data pipeline.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.

Skills and Requirements

• Strong mathematical and problem solving skills;
• Great Python development skills;
• Feel at home in a Linux environment;
• Understanding of shell scripting;
• Great software design skills;
• Understanding of software testing methodologies;

• Experience in developing with Agile values and principles;

• Experienced in use of a source control system with a branching development methodology, ideally git;
• Working knowledge of containerisation; and
• 1-3 years practical experience in industry.

Highly Desirable

• Basic understanding of computer vision, data science, machine learning, and robotics;
• Experience in Agile methodologies;

• Familiarity with Linux;
• Working knowledge of containerisation; and
• Masters degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.

The main development office of Abyss Solutions is located in Homebush Business Village in the Inner West of Sydney. The office is within close proximity to the Great Western Highway, Western Motorway and Homebush Bay Drive, which places it at the junction of major arterial roads linking Sydney north to South and East to West. Bus and railway stations are easily accessible. The Sydney CBD is only 30 minutes drive away.
