Your Role

Senior developers are the backbone of our development teams. They are involved in all aspects of development including design and architecture, unit testing, performance testing, data analytics, quality, operational scalability, and security.

As a senior software engineer, you will work on innovative data processing and algorithmic problems that enable our products to deliver revolutionary new insights and capabilities to our products. Whether it’s image processing, working with sonar data, 3D point clouds, raw sensor data, or integrating our latest ML solutions into our pipeline, you’ll never be short of challenging problems to solve.

About the Job

• Work closely with our research Machine Learning team to build new data analysis capabilities.
• Work closely with internal and external customers to develop cutting-edge software solutions for difficult problems.
• Contribute heavily to the architectural roadmap.

• Take responsibility for functional and non-functional aspects of software development.

• Be responsible for the development and delivery of commercial data products.
• Assist junior software engineers in becoming more competent.
• This position can eventually transition into a formal Team Lead role.

About You

• Substantial experience (5+ years) writing production-quality Python code.
• Experience using packages such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and open3d.
• Solid Linux experience, including shell scripting and system-level programming.
• You have contributed to system requirements, architecture and design.
• You have a great understanding of software engineering principles from design and coding through to peer review, unit testing, CI/CD and deployment.
• You understand the principles and practices around performance measurement, improvement and scalability.
• You bring strong skills in analysis and problem solving.
• You identify and champion best practices within your team.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with C/C++ development
• Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Experience working with GIS systems
• Experience working with Docker and AWS
• Experience working in the following areas: computer vision, image processing, point clouds, robotics, photogrammetry or machine learning.
• A history of technical and/or team leadership.
• Experience with Agile processes, including acting as a Scrum Master.
