Senior Software Engineer

Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia | Engineering | Full-time | Partially remote

In this role as Senior Software Engineer you’ll join one of our amazing Scrum teams who are responsible for the way we connect and integrate with other tools to enrich the Accelo experience.

You will collaborate extensively with the team lead and product owner, and work closely within a small team of mid and junior level developers to devise and deliver optimal approaches to new feature requests and improvements.

Our Senior Engineers provide specialist programming support, leadership, technical guidance and strategy to various initiatives for our engineering team.

In this role, you’ll be an agent of change, identifying and implementing improvements to technology, practice and process within the team or broader organisation.

You’ll focus on maintaining and improving our Accelo product and engineering function, as well as sharing knowledge and skills regarding development in a modern engineering team with other developers.

We build with NodeJS, GraphQL, ReactJS, Perl and more, and in this role you’ll be instrumental in helping us to redefine the roadmap for our future technology needs.

To be successful in your application for this role you should satisfy the following requirements.

• Proven experience as a professional software engineer in a senior role.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Outstanding ability to communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders of varying backgrounds, levels and abilities.
• A respectful and self-aware composition with a willingness to accept constructive feedback.
• Demonstrable application of principles, practices and patterns associated with writing good quality software systems centred upon enduring data models.
• A flair for solving problems and coming up with innovative solutions with ever-present attention to detail and precision.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial commercial experience.
