ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking 2 Senior Software Engineers to join our software development team who play a crucial part in providing a web-based platform to deliver ACER’s high-quality assessment services to our customers and to students around the world. Our software engineering practices at ACER encompass cross-functional Agile teams following best practice development, testing and deployment workflows.

Technologies we work with include PHP, Angular, NodeJs, JavaScript and TypeScript, MongoDb Atlas, AWS tools such as Elasticsearch, Cognito and Messaging, and automated testing across our CI/CD pipeline. We are constantly looking at continuous improvement across our development practices, technology stack and processes to improve our solutions and user experiences.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Commercial experience leading a web application development team, delivering projects on time and on budget
• Proven experience providing architectural design and technical leadership to internal and external stakeholders
• Proven experience using Object Oriented design and development, demonstrating use of real-world design patterns and class frameworks
• A high standard of engineering work and adherence to industry best practices and standards, especially with respect to secure software development
• Strong problem solving and solution design skills
• Effective communication and articulation of design decisions and insights to team members and other key business stakeholders
• Working knowledge and familiarity with Agile methodology

GENERAL INFORMATION

We have two positions available offered on an ongoing, full-time basis, and can be based in any of our ACER Australian offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth (hybrid working arrangements are also available).

Salary is within the range $118,837 – $159,486 per annum based on experience (plus the 17% ACER contribution to superannuation).
