Research Associate (1 – 3, Sr RA), First project is focused on microbiology, and then consultant will expand into molecular biology – Specifically, for this position, (at least initially) the work would involve more plug and play straightforward execution of (somewhat) repetitive tasks that include: o Bacterial culturing and subculturing o Agar plating to grow bacteria o UV Vis spectrophotometry to monitor / measure microbial growth – Attributes, in addition to what is on the attached doc, would include: o Good aseptic technique o Strong lab organizational skills – It is important to point out this work would involve working with blood. We have PPE and BSL-2 facilities and provide Bloodborne Pathogen training – Mentoring by and potentially reporting to Maura After the Micro Project: Work under the direction of a Scientist/Sr. Scientist on product development projects Design and implement experiments to develop and optimize assays on the bench and within consumable devices Take detailed notes and follow good documentation practices Summarize and communicate experimental data and draw conclusions independently Identify and resolve assay and device performance issues

BA/BS or MA/MS in life sciences and 2+ years relevant experience in the lab Sound fundamental knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, and/or related fields Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams Good organizational skills Appropriate computer skills (e-mail, word processing, excel, graphing and analytic software) Problem Solving and Creative thinking
