The Role
Adelaide PHN is a commissioning and compliance organisation with a high reliance on data collected from our contacted service providers (CSPs), public health data and our own engagement data to monitor performance and inform what services are commissioned.

We are currently developing our data reporting and business intelligence capabilities and are seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Developer to join our growing Information Technology, Reporting and Governance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data warehouse developer to apply their knowledge and take ownership of the development of our budding data warehouse.

The Data Warehouse Developer will:

• Be primarily responsible for maintaining, extending, and redesigning (where appropriate) the existing data warehouse (DW). The DW is used to supply data to reports and dashboards which monitor the performance of programs run by Adelaide PHN. This is a technical hands-on role responsible for ensuring that:
• Data collected is accurate, up to date and timely; and aligns with external reporting requirements; and
• Data is available in a format suitable for modelling in Power BI and building reports that are consistent.
• Be involved with the selection and implementation of data warehousing methodology;
• Navigate multiple databases, data sources and development work that has been started and where documentation is lacking;
• Investigate and document new data sources and how they might integrate with existing data;
• Create SSIS ETL packages to ingest data from a range of applications and sources;
• Monitor data warehouse performance and ensure that ETL packages are executing correctly;
• Assist with the development of new dataset specifications;
• Build ingestion processes for the submission of data files from providers;
• Liaise and work closely with the Data Analysis team to gather data requirements; and inform where data can be acquired and identification of new datasets that should be included in the DW.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

• Tertiary qualifications in information technology, information management or a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent experience;
• 2+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting data warehousing;
• Excellent understanding of best practice techniques, data warehousing principles and concepts, including data analysis, data profiling, data cleansing and data modelling;
• Demonstrated experience working with:
• SQL 2014/2016
• ETLs, DWH and Cubes
• Demonstrated ability to work with large complex sets of data;
• Experience in identifying and classifying sensitive data;
• Programming skills in .net (advantageous but not essential);
• Basic understanding of Power BI / Dax and Power Query, to enable collaboration with our Data Analysis team;
• Strong communication skills to deliver complex information in understandable and digestible formats.
