Safety and Security Manager
Role Summary
Our client is looking for a Safety and Security Manager to join their high-growth and fast-paced organization, providing final mile distribution services for large eCommerce companies. The ideal candidate has experience creating and managing field safety programs that include facility safety audits, safety program evaluations, safety training, audits for TSA IACSSP compliance, and promoting a positive safety culture.
Key Results Areas
Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the company safety program
Provide leadership and direction to building leadership and safety team in the implementation of safety organizational practices to drive culture and mindset of continuous improvement
Manage facility safety audits, providing compliance guidance
Communicate any safety concerns or compliance issues with local management
Perform scheduled facility visits to audit company policies and programs to include safety compliance, training, orientation, forklift and electric pallet jack operation/license verification, hazmat, safety committee, and procedural compliance
Provide content and expertise for training, development of awareness program materials, safety huddle topics, and monthly safety teachable moments
Review completed facility investigation reports for all employee work injuries, incidents, and general liability cases to determine root cause and the correct actions to be taken
Participate in the monthly motor vehicle accident review committee when available
Lead monthly workers compensation/employee accident review committee
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred or five years related experience and training in related industry or management; or equivalent combination of both education and specific work experience
Able to effectively present information and respond to questions at all levels of the company
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Broad knowledge of the rules, regulations, and guidelines for safety
Ability to create and implement programs and processes that improve the safety of all employees
Provide advisement to facilities regarding workplace safety and procedures
Consults and coordinates with employees, facility managers, regional managers, and directors in the field
Capable of standing, walking, sitting, and lifting to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, or crouching
