AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer I to be based in Austin, TX.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Builds analytic and design skills.

• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

• Develop hydrology models using a variety of methods and software

• Develop 1D and 2D hydraulic models that simulate steady-state and unsteady flow regimes using the latest software

• Product maps, reports and geodatabases to communicate the results of the hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to industry professionals, public officials, and the public

• Work under the supervision of a license Professional Engineer

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis in water from an ABET-accredited university.

• Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience working with a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software(HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks, StormCAD/CivilStorm, WaterGEMs, etc)

• Understanding of hydrology and hydraulic processes supported by relevant coursework

• Familiar with geographic information systems (GIS) software

• Has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

• Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment

• Strong computer skills including working knowledge of MicroSoft Word and Excel.

• Excellent written and oral communication will be needed to coordinate with technical and non-technical staff.
