The Team

At Aflac NI we are building a multidisciplinary Cyber Security Team to support our Global Security Program, protecting our customers in the US and Japan.

Over the next three years, we plan to grow the Aflac NI Security Team to over 30 people and take ownership of key components of the Global Security Program. We are integrating with the Global Security Team to strengthen its existing functions and build new capabilities.

Working as part of the Aflac NI Cyber Security Team, you will partner with the US-based Governance, Risk & Compliance Team to plan, manage, and execute on the Global Security Strategy.

The Role

Aflac NI is in search of an experienced Information Risk Management, Governance, & Compliance Specialist to join our growing Belfast based Cyber Security Team.

You will act as a SME for security governance processes and support the Aflac Northern Ireland Team in working through Aflac’s governance frameworks as well as supporting security awareness within the team.

You will serve as the liaison between Aflac NI and Information Risk Management and Governance Teams to ensure risk is evaluated, mitigating controls are documented, and remediation plans are properly tracked and approved.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage the review and approval of all Aflac NI submissions through the required governance processes
• Manage any policy violations or requests for exception/acceptance to the existing policies/standards through the governance process
• Support any requests to use a new vendor and subsequent reassessments (based on risk) through the governance process
• Provide support for the Application and Infrastructure assessment program
• Coordination of issue updates and required approvals
• Coordinate with Information Governance team to ensure information is managed pursuant to company objectives
• Act as a local liaison for phishing campaigns and phishing awareness
• Support training / awareness campaigns coordination with Global Security Program activities – i.e. cyber awareness month and other campaigns
• Security event coordination – targeted security awareness events that you may want to have in ANI
• Work with the Head of Cyber Security, Aflac NI and Global Security Stakeholders to ensure Aflac meets its obligations under applicable security requirements and data protection laws, including the GDPR

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security and or 4+ years’ experience in governance and risk management related security fields
• Knowledge of information security policies and principles of information handling and protection
• Strong working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and industry standards related to compliance and risk management
• Understanding of the regulatory landscape and changes that could affect a global security program
• Understanding of risk management methodologies identifying threat, vulnerability, likelihood, impact, and security controls and remediation plans
• Ability to prepare and present situational updates to varying levels of leadership and varying technical experience
• Knowledge of developing and consistently reporting against metrics to identify and measure process outputs and process maturity

Desirable

• CISA, CISM, CISSP
• Experience assessing overall risk of vulnerabilities within an enterprise environment
• Knowledge of national and international regulatory compliance and frameworks such as ISO, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, PCI DSS and NIST.
• Experience with RSA Archer GRC platform
