We are currently seeking positive, energetic and motivated people to join our Air New Zealand whanau at our Christchurch Airport for intakes in 2025! We are excited to open our Expression of interest for our permanent, part time Baggage Handlers/Aircraft Cleaners to start from February 2025!
What will you be doing?
Day to day you will do a combination of Baggage Make-up, Aircraft Cleaning as well as Aircraft Loading. When on Baggage Make-up duties you will be responsible for ensuring baggage is handled safely and carefully and for ensuring it is sorted, ready to load on the appropriate flights.
When you are on cleaning duties, you will be responsible for the cleaning and the presentation of our aircraft. With aircrafts departing and arriving at all hours of the day and night, you will be working to very tight deadlines and to meet your deadlines, teamwork is a must. When you are on loading duties, you will ensure our customers’ bags are handled safely and securely and arrive on time to the customer’s destination.
You’ll need to be able to troubleshoot, and work to tight deadlines. The work itself involves a lot of heavy lifting and a lot of bending, so being fit and willing to work in a persistent physical environment. Day to day you will face a variety of scenarios, you will need to be resilient, proactive and very safety conscious.
Mandatory Requirements:
Part-Time workers work a minimum of 25 hours per work up to 35 hours per week. You may be rostered between Monday to Sunday, including Public Holidays. You must be highly flexible and willing to work at any given time as the Airport is a 24/7 operation.
