About the role

Due to internal moves we are looking for an Engineer Software Testing to join our Brisbane based Engineering Team in a permanent full time position. You will be joing a close knit team of software specialist from diverse backgrounds, who are outcomes focussed but love a good chat over a cuppa. In this interesting and challenging role you will be responsible for working within an engineering team to develop and deliver design solutions, using a systems engineering design philosophy.

Specifically you will:

• Develop and review software-level test procedures and test reports for complex airborne software
• Execute both automated and manual software-level test procedures on the Software Test Bench
• Develop, review, approve and manage Design Engineering tasks within your scope
• Maintain data files, engineering records and electronic databases as required to accurately report and record engineering decisions
• Drive continuous improvement of software testing tools and methodologies
• Comply with relevant Quality and Engineering plans, processes and procedures as required (Quality Management System and Engineering Management System)

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to live the Airbus Values, work with passion and determination, able to work to tight deadlines in an environment of continuous improvement. The skills and experience suited to this role:

• Previous professional experience working in relevant engineering field
• Understanding of maintenance and engineering cost drivers and how to ensure cost effectiveness
• Bachelor of Engineering in Software, Avionics, Electronics or compatible discipline from nationally accredited program or equivalent
• Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, CAANZ, CASA, etc.), standards and best practices desirable but not essential
• Able to perform complex analysis with some assistance as required
• Ability to self-direct task management in a high workload environment; ability to work effectively with employees from other domains
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build long-lasting, collaborative relationships with peers and interdependent functions; and manage conflicting priorities within a matrix organisation
