Alaska Pet & Yard Services, LLC Hiring for Laborer Grounds Maintenance & Driver – $20-$25/hr at Anchorage, AK Full Time

We currently have a “Grounds Maintenance Laborer/Driver” position’s available. Depending on an individuals pace, physical shape and familiarity with the job, our field employees earn $20-$25/hr! This is a year round permanent position (winter, spring, summer and fall). Position is Monday through Friday. We start each day at 8:AM and work a full day.

This position is great for people who enjoy general labor outdoor type work and don’t mind picking up after dogs. However, please understand that this is absolutly not like spending a few minutes picking up after your own dog. This job is similar to the type of labor associated with lawn maintenance/landscaping. Field employees drive from customer home to customer home. However, on average, our field employees walk 7 miles per day while going through customer yards. It is cardiovasularly intensive. It is common for new field employees to be sore and achy for about a month until they become physically conditioned for the work. New field employees that are already in good physical condition adapt quickly to the work.

After the probationary period, compensation is paid by the job. Employees currently in this position average between $20-$25/hr! (depending on the individuals pace, physical condition and familiarity of the routes). Probationary period is approximately 30 days. During the probationary period compensation is $18 per hour. The position requires that you own a vehicle to use on the job. The vehicle must be in good condition, be reliable and have appropriate tires for the weather conditions (i.e. Snow tires during the winter). We pay 54 cents per mile while providing services to our customers.

What’s a typical day? Generally speaking, you will get a daily route of customers that you will access through a company provided iPad, you will start from your home each day, run a route of customers to service for the day, give Buddy a belly rub (if he’s outside), quickly walk the yard, clean-up Buddy’s canine treasures, double bag it, put it in their trash can and drive on to the next house. Most yards only have one week of dog waste accumulation. Average time in a yard is only a few minutes.
