Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Medical Terminology required, proficiency test will be administered. Keyboarding skills required, proficiency test will be administered. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Knowledge of legislation regarding access, privacy and disclosure of patient information required. Confident to work independently and in a team environment with excellent communication skills. Skilled at paying close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk course. Experience in medical office setting preferred. Experience with Meditech Admission Module and Netcare is an asset.
