Alkan Air Ltd. Looking for Alkan Air – PM Flight Follower/ Ramp Attendant at Whitehorse, YT Full Time

This hybrid role consists of assisting our Air Crew in the organization, coordination and dispatching of our aircraft. The position is split in two parts:

1) In Office: 12pm – 5pm. Duties are focused around receiving and loading freight, providing support to Air Crew, equipment and vehicle upkeep, snow removal (with training) when needed.

2) After Hours: Evening coverage for on-call medevac services. Duties are focused on providing after hours support to our clients and dispatching pilots.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Personal Characteristics:
Arrives to work in a timely manner and is dependable.

Is able to work well, stay focused and multitask in a very busy/noisy environment with staff/clients coming and going.

Strong organizational and decision making skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to work a variety of shifts to support our 24/7 operation when required.

Customer service orientated with a strong commitment to providing excellent service.

Adapts to changing conditions and shows a willingness to help others in various departments.

Job-Specific Qualifications:
Experience and knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Google Docs).

Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Address customer inquiries by telephone, email and in-person.

Any other related duties as assigned by Management.

Flight Following to understand and know whereabouts of aircraft

Dispatches Medevac flights and keeps medevac pilot schedule up-to-date and accurate

File required documents for international charters (with training).

Follow all procedures and policies with respect to Operations, Safety and Emergency Measures.

Shift Coverage: 7 days on, 7 days off schedule. Hours 12 – 5 in office, with phone coverage evening/overnight.

Additional Compensation above the hourly rate is provided for call outs after hours.
