Responsibilities:

The following articulates the primary expectations of the Market Engagement Specialist position; does not include other responsibilities that may be assigned by the RVP.

Responsibility Overview:

• Provide hyper-local market research, identifying opportunities to grow underpenetrated market shares and assist in the development of market-specific growth attack plans
• Assist in notifying and influencing corporate marketing teams when growth opportunities arise in specific markets within the region (fixed and wireless)
• Support market and product upgrades (e.g., Internet speed increases, content changes, encryption, etc.) within the region to drive growth and reduce churn
• Serve as primary liaison in assigned region to foster local partnerships and execute community events that align with local community and philanthropic objectives, handling all aspects from concept to implementation, with support from corporate as needed
• Strategically execute company signature programs and initiatives as part of Altice USA’s corporate community commitment, Altice Connects
• Develop and foster relationships in the assigned region – externally with influential and strategic community organizations as well as internally to promote growth and employee engagement
• Execute and champion Back to University Campaign by collaborating with direct sales, retail, and internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as primary communications contact for the assigned region, working closely with corporate communications to execute regional and national strategies as well as local communications, employee communications, press opportunities and media correspondence as appropriate, social media etc.
• While position reports to the RVPs in each region, key indirect working relationships include corporate government affairs, community affairs and communicationsTask Highlights:
• 
  Proactively identify strategic local opportunities for community engagement/charitable support that align with business priorities, corporate tenets, and/or provide opportunities to demonstrate our local presence in a manner that resonates with community stakeholders (customers, leaders) as well as employees
• Given defined resources, solicit input to ensure strategic investments are best use of resources (money, time, effort) and yield a meaningful ROI
• Ensure geographic diversity of investment is commensurate with business objectives (target markets, penetration rates, employee presence, etc.)
• Field all sponsorship/charitable opportunities for consideration, vet for appropriateness and respond with final decision in a timely manner
• Collaborate with government affairs on strategic community engagement
• Leverage business relationships and engagement (i.e., community, chambers) to maximize community investments, with an eye toward achieving sales growth
• Submit recommended requests in a timely manner, following established processes and including sufficient information that articulates the strategy behind the recommendation and impact of the engagement (i.e., community exposure, branding, funding requests (both cash and in-kind), business alignment, connection to corporate tenets etc.)
• 
  Local/Regional Market Research and Tactics
• Collaborate with Marketing to deliver on brand strategies (fixed and wireless) specific to targeted communities that meets the needs of key internal stakeholders and resonates with customers
• Analyze and research marketing and sales data to develop insights and offer recommendations on areas of growth and optimization of customer experience
• Provide competitive analysis on market offerings, market trends, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation and offer recommendations on how to address competitive threats.
• Assist in evaluating reasons for customer churn/defects and identify local markets where events and activities may help recover
• Partner with local or regional media teams to maximize reach through sponsorships, DJ endorsements, events and tactical activities to drive growth

Communications

• Prepare all materials for internal and external communications related to local engagementIncludes but is not limited to writing of articles for internal employee communications, as well as drafting press releases, talking points, remarks, photo captions and event summaries; includes corporate communications when needed and appropriate.

• Appropriate pre-planning and anticipation of needed communications (internal and external) to maximize impact of community engagement, in close coordination with corporate communications on any press outreach
• Prepare shot list for photos and ensure plans in place to secure
• Timeliness – as a matter of course, event related communication activity should be completed within 24 hours of the eventWrite-ups should reflect the intended audience and may require multiple versions in order to resonate with different audiences to be written (i.e., internal vs. external, digital vs. print)

• Regularly communicate with government affairs colleagues on status of local engagement opportunities and business objectives (same expectation for government affairs field directors)

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree preferably in PR and/or Communications/Marketing.
• Marketing background preferred.
• Experience with event organization and community outreach is preferred.
• Project Management skills.
• Proficient knowledge, with proven experience, of Microsoft Office applications, emphasis on experience with Power Point.
• Strong oral communication skills, ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Strong written communication skills, ability to write clearly, succinctly and in a manner, that appeals to a wide audience (free from errors, conveying messages that can’t be misinterpreted).
• Well organized and detail oriented, can juggle multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy.
• Must be flexible to work overtime on short notice.
• Ability to travel (occasionally).
