Altus Engineering Looking for Full Stack Software Developer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Full Time

Altus Engineering is seeking a Software Developer to support our DoD team working on highly visible projects utilizing leading edge technologies.

This position can be performed remotely after initial onboarding.

In this job you will:

• Develop new web based applications and extend functionality of existing tools
• Use Object oriented programing languages (e.g., C++, Java, PHP, etc.) in addition to web-based programming languages including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL to create, extend, and maintain custom internal- and external-facing tools and applications
• Test code, features, business rules, and integrations
• Troubleshoot and fix website, application, and user support issues.
• Work closely with Project Manager, customers, and other staff members to collect requirements, estimate work, and ensure that tasks are deployed according to schedule
• Design and envision new web-based systems in response to customer technical requirements

We are looking for a developer who:

• Loves to code, works hard to stay current, is excited by new technology, and enjoys discussing new ideas and brainstorming
• Has familiarity of web application frameworks and knowledge of common web technologies such as, but not limited to, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, and XML (experience preferred).
• Can work both independently and in small collaborative teams
• Can drive complex projects
• Enjoys intellectually challenging tasks
• Appreciates the flexibility and benefits of a small company

Additional Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship and capability to obtain security clearance.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in computer or electrical engineering, computer science, math, or physics.
• Equivalent applicable experience can be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree

Experience Requirements:

• Five (5) or more years of Object Oriented Programming experience (e.g., C++, Java, PHP)
• Three (3) or more years of Agile software development process experience
• Three (3) or more years of web-based programming experience
• Unix and Windows® operating systems experience
• Atlassian, Git and Agile experience
• Oracle PL/SQL programming experience
• SQL programming experience
