About the Role & Team

The Senior DevOps Engineer role is to dedicate the attention of a full time engineer to an ever-growing list of deployments, each with their own specifics. In particular, the role is required to reduce the devops attention currently being filled primarily by software engineers within the team that need to perform R&D tasks. This in turn impacts the product development plans, and the ability to react to new opportunities. This role is not a typical devops role, and requires a particular mindset, attitude and background skills. In particular it will require persisting through the sizeable learning curves, and being willing to rapidly adapt to new technologies. In return, the dev-ops engineer will have the opportunity to get hands on experience in advanced technologies. The role is expected to be interactive with the rest of the R&D team, and could lead to more core involvement with development in the future.

Main Responsibilities

• Catalogue and characterise all 3D scanner, Biometrics and Bag Tag Scanner depolyments
• Custom QC stress testing on high tech products for various computer types
• Implementing devops automation and automatic alerting customised to high tech products
• Demonstrate initiative in contributing to problem solving, design solutions and team goals.
• Coordinate installation of software system.
• Configuring and managing GPU-based algorithm training and evaluation processes
• Managing and advancing training / validation datasets
• Support, work together with Operations team and customer service teams in case of issues, cutovers etc…

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 to 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ‘Managing and monitoring high tech multi-sensor systems.
• Understanding training and implementation workflows for deep learning and computer vision algorithms.
• Automation, modern logging, alerting and reporting systems.
• General understanding of full stack devops, analytics and testing.
• Automation and script generation using software such as python, C#, JavaScript.
• Experience collaborating with software development teams using version control systems and agile methodologies.
• Experience using data management and data analytics platforms.
• Knowledge with respect to popular machine learning libraries, with TensorFlow and the python data-processing stack highly recommended.
