Job Summary
Amentum is seeking a Reliability & SMART Building Lead to support our industrial operations & maintenance teams across the Amentum/Client portfolio.
The Reliability & SMART Building Lead acts as a Reliability, Predictive Maintenance, and Internet of Things (IoT) SME to support to maintenance teams with development of strategies that help create processes and programs able to sustain low operating costs and improve asset Reliability. This position not only performs evaluations, but also trains teams to identify and eliminate equipment failure risk, reduce operating and maintenance costs, increase uptime, and improve sensor implementation.
Develops and maintains Reliability Programs and creates a model that can be utilized across multiple sites
Proactively identifies potential project problems or opportunities and analyzes the issues, using all appropriate resources, to develop the optimum approach to mitigating problems and/or exploiting
Should be knowledgeable of best-in-class maintenance practices and predictive maintenance activities
Identifies opportunities, perform root cause analysis, and develop Reliability standards associated with proprietary machine tools and testing
You will need to possess knowledge of electrical and mechanical aspects of process/production equipment, including component functionality, to understand equipment issues and develop improvement opportunities.
Generate and follow through to completion all Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for improved Reliability of key assets and value Lead overall completion of Root Cause and Corrective Actions
Support spare parts critical spares generation and share responsibility for ongoing spare parts management program that meets Reliability
Lead weekly continues improvement activities and communicate wins and barriers to client and Amentum management
Perform high level maintenance planning and materials
Plan for shutdowns, turnarounds, and plant outages
Develop predictive maintenance strategies and training tool
Perform risk-based asset management and root cause
Coverage for site leads as necessary

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, Industrial T echnology or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and Eight years of experience in Reliability and/or Predictive Maintenance related work will be considered demonstrated equivalent in experience with no education.
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as MAXIMO, EAMS or other database systems.
Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
In addition to education, 6 additional years of experience in Reliability, industrial production operations and maintenance.
Experience with developing and detailing cost savings opportunities.
Experience with performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective solutions.
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship/work authorization
V alid Driver’s License
50% – 75% travel is required
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer.
Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer, and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Preferred Qualifications
R ecord of proven performance in Predictive Maintenance on previous industrial / manufacturing projects in the Facility / Process / Production Maintenance management industry.
Extensive experience in Predictive Maintenance process and equipment technology and training others on its usage.
Experience identifying and implementing Internet of Things (IoT) sensor technology.
Strong technical background in and understanding of operations in an industrial / manufacturing / research facilities environment, including experience related to production equipment projects.
Knowledge of and experience in using vibration data analysis software to perform vibration analysis and component troubleshooting and recommendations.
Able to read, understand and follow mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints and other
Experience with project management and implementation.
Experience with financial and strategic planning or Project.
Experience with employee supervision.
