American Crystal Sugar Company Hiring for MDS Supervisor- Hillsboro at Hillsboro, ND Full Time
We are looking for a talented individual to join our Hillsboro, ND factory as a MDS Supervisor. The purpose of this position is to direct day to day operation of the molasses desugarization facility and related operations in an efficient, safe and compliant manner optimizing sugar production. The MDS Supervisor manages the liquid by-product movement into and out of the factory site.
The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises the MDS process to maximize output and sugar recovery.
- Supervises MDS shipping and receiving operation to ensure appropriate availability of incoming and outgoing product.
- Supervises MDS and tank farm operations to ensure compliance with environmental permit requirements.
- Manages and plans MDS maintenance with the Maintenance Superintendent to ensure effective MDS operations.
- Develops and manages the MDS processing budget.
- Supervises assigned staff within established parameters of the union contract.

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this position requires knowledge of power (electrical and steam), evaporation processes, control technology, and maintenance typically gained through the completion of a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree with a minimum of five to seven years of food processing or related experience. An understanding of the ion exclusion process is preferred. Effective organizational, oral, and written communication and supervisory skills are necessary.
