Key duties

The platform engineer is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and monitoring the infrastructure supporting customer-facing applications. Platform engineering activities include server administration, supervision, and the automation of recurring tasks. The platform engineer must also be at ease with cloud technologies, both in their deployment and their architecture. Duties include:

• Implementing platform changes.

• Automating platform deployment and maintenance tasks.

• Ensuring continuous monitoring of the platform across various environments.

• Identifying and fixing reliability issues.

• Tracking and managing system stability, capacity.

• Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement in processes, design, and implementations.

• Maintaining security and quality standards within the infrastructure.

Qualifications

Engineering or master’s degree in computer science.

Proven troubleshooting skills in complex systems.

Demonstrated track record of executing task diligently and with the necessary rigor.

Demonstrated experience in platform management.

Required Technical skills

Proficient in full AWS suite (EC2, S3, ALB, Route53, Global Accelerator, ECS/Fargate, Lambda…) – equivalent to AWS Practitioneer or DevOps certifications

Skills in Amazon CDK

Ansible

Python scripting

Linux system management

Preferred

Powershell scripting

Windows system management

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
