American Express Savings is an online direct bank that offers FDIC-insured High-Yield Savings Accounts and Certificates of Deposit directly to consumers. The business has grown to over $60BN of direct deposits since launch. The company is investing to grow direct deposits as stable, diversified sources of funding for the company’s businesses through differentiated, convenient deposit products and experiences that help customers achieve their savings aspirations in a unified digital experience.
We are seeking a highly motivated product professional to join the Savings Product Management and Customer Experience team. Our team is accountable for driving business outcomes through a customer-centric product roadmap and managing the end-to-end customer experience across all product features, functionality and channels, ensuring that the customer is central to every part of our business. In this role, the manager will define the roadmap, product and customer experience strategy that will drive business outcomes for a suite of key products/customer features for Amex Savings. The focus of the role will be on money movement, external account linkage and onboarding, as well as other journeys in the customer lifecycle that require coordination with core banking capabilities across the Enterprise. The selected candidate could manage others and will partner and collaborate closely with teams across digital, data and analytics, technology, operations, legal and compliance to deliver on their product roadmap.
Specific responsibilities include:
Providing central product leadership of a suite of products or key features for Amex Savings
Understanding customer needs and identifying key insights and opportunities, gathered from quantitative and qualitative research and competitive research
Defining the product/feature vision and desired customer journey
Defining OKRs and metrics of success that align with business goals
Utilizing tools such as product canvas, customer journey mapping, and feature/story mapping to communicate the vision and align with key stakeholders
Partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver on the product vision
Partnering closely with platform and product POs and engineering teams to groom, build, test and release new features and functionality
Managing a robust backlog of ideas, features, and ways to improve the customer & user experience
Managing the go-to-market strategy for launching new features
Qualifications
3-5 years minimum experience working with a digital product or online user experience
Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into business requirements
Ability to define a strategy, set a vision and gain buy-in and alignment with stakeholders
Ability to distill and communicate complex problems or solutions to drive effective and efficient decision making with cross-functional teams
Bias towards leveraging data to drive decisions
Strong communications skills and ability to present information to different audience levels
Comfortable with ambiguity, managing change, and multiple priorities under time constraints
Ability to prioritize conflicting needs and requests and make informed decisions
Ability to function well in complex and cross-functional organizational structures
Strong interpersonal skills, assertive yet collaborative to engage and influence others
Experience with Agile methodology, writing features and user stories
Experience with digital banking and money movement capabilities, strongly preferre
Experience managing other product professionals preferred
