Responsibilities

As a Student Analyst, you will:

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and market research to uncover key trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with fellow analysts to produce comprehensive reports, including (but not limited to):

1. M&A analysis: Assessing potential and historical mergers, acquisitions, and related corporate strategies.
2. Equity research: Evaluating company performance, stock valuations, and investment opportunities.
3. Legal and regulatory reviews: Exploring legal implications and compliance aspects in deals and transactions.
4. ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reports: Investigating companies’ sustainability practices and their impact on market perception.

• Prepare high-quality research outputs every fortnight (flexible deadlines), ensuring accurate data and thoughtful insights.
• Work in teams of 2-3 analysts to tackle deals or equities collaboratively, providing diverse perspectives and refined analyses.
• Contribute to regular macroeconomic updates, keeping the team and stakeholders informed of global market shifts.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who:

• Are currently pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, law, or a related field at a university in Australia or New Zealand.
• Have a keen interest in financial markets, corporate strategy, and sustainability.
• Possess strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Have exemplary academic and extracurricular achievement
• Are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines.
• Prior experience with financial analysis, report writing, or data tools (e.g., Excel, S&P CapIQ. Bloomberg, or Tableau) is highly preferred but not required.
• All applicants will be asked to choose a certain rotation which best fits their career aspirations and desire for exposure

Work Environment
