General purpose of the job

To supervise packing and shipping of all produced products, both bulk and bagged products, and to work with plant operations personnel to coordinate grinding schedule for the plant.

Individual accountabilities

• To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship, to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors
• To meet the needs of customers in an efficient and courteous manner.
• To ensure effective utilization of equipment and people, including maintenance, troubleshooting and building housekeeping.
• To ensure employees have the information and tools to perform their job safely.
• To ensure that all equipment operates within environmental compliance.
• Provide two-way communication within and between plant and distribution.
• To participate in developing the capital and operating budgets in order to continuously improve the efficiency of the shipping and raw materials receiving
• Provide leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, support, and delegating, as the situation requires.

Education

Undergraduate degree in logistics or related business focus preferred.

Technical knowledge and certifications

2 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing & distribution-related activities, including knowledge of rail & motor carrier transportation & knowledge of plant production activities.
