Senior Software Test Engineer

Summary

You will be an integral part of the OZ Studio SIT Team as well as developing and maintaining best test practices, technical leadership and coaching to drive high performance within OZ Games Studio and across software within D&D Australia. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer who is passionate in delivering high-quality product that is properly tested against user, software, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Software Test Engineer role provides technical design support and conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure all products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. This position will primarily focus on designing, building, testing, and deploying effective test solutions. The Senior Software Test Engineer will interact regularly with teams and be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of complex testing solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Analyse functional requirements to design specific test scenarios that ensure proper automation test coverage and depth.
• Write and review test plans, test design, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Design, develop, configure, and maintain test frameworks and custom test solutions.
• Identify, document, create, and maintain test data.
• Design and execute test cases, conduct product requirements analysis.
• Leverage appropriate testing tools and techniques based on technology domain.
• Lead multiple games concurrently, formulate a test strategy, monitor progress from feature testing, integration, and regression testing, to tracking defects to closure, and coordinate testing with external regulators for certification.
• Assist in investigation of significant quality issues (from game studios or field issues), reproducing the issue, troubleshooting, or debugging code to find the root cause.
• Test various functionalities in game engine SDK for a variety of markets.
• Apply compliance related constraints and jurisdictional knowledge in functional testing.
• Work with Project Managers and SIT Manager in preparing and executing test plans.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot technical issues from the test script to the application under test as well as troubleshooting hardware in the environment
• Design, Estimate and execute test cases, conduct product requirements analysis.
• Work with automation engineer to help automate and maintain test cases so that test scripts will be reused across test cycles for a family of games.
• Assist in troubleshooting and debugging code to find the root cause of the issues and provide detailed information to the development team
• Follow guidelines & processes set by SIT management to plan and execute tests to support business.
• Bring in ideas/innovations to improve the overall testing process in terms of tools, processes, test cases etc.
• Effective collaboration with project stakeholders
• Consider jurisdictional compliance-related constraints and industry knowledge in functional testing
• Mentor junior engineers on testing best practices and processes.
• Raise defect report or provide feedback for functionality or usability improvements.
• Willingness to learn regulatory requirements and be an active team member
• Prepare test metrics, test summary, root cause analysis, and lessons learned for test retrospectives.

• Lead/Contribute to the maintenance, improvement, introduction of testing best practices, processes and tools including items such as coding standards, code reviews, requirements analysis, gap analysis, test case development, tests case execution

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electronics or similar
• 5 years of relevant experience in Software Testing Engineer role or similar
• Knowledge of various testing tools including JIRA, Zephyr across test management, automation and other specialized testing techniques (highly regarded)
• Prior experience in the gaming industry will be a plus
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong hands-on experience with executing automated tests, along with debugging and root cause analysis (highly regarded)
• Thorough knowledge of quality control processes and methodology, with ability to create and execute detailed test plans and test cases
• Experience working closely with development teams to design, build, and test applications
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with global stakeholders
• Prior experience of testing/validating SDK will be a big plus
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Linux OS, C++, scripting or automation tools will be a big plus.
