In this role, you will develop manufacturing drawings using drafting software as well as Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming software to support both the design and programming involved in the engineering of parts and products.

+ Analyze job orders, drawings, prints, specifications and design data in order to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates.

+ Create and edit detailed 2D and 3D designs for complex projects and part requirements.

+ Use CNC programming software to create programs for CNC machines.

+ Observe machines on trial run or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications.

+ Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency

+ Responsible for all phases of process documentation of engineering orders

+ Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.

+ Determine reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures.

+ Review drawings to ensure accuracy and to determine the sequence of operations to manufacture parts
