Ascension Eastwood Behavioral Health is looking for a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor for our Southfield Male Residential location. In this role, you will serve as a clinician treating behavioral health conditions, including mental illness and substance abuse disorders. This is a Full-time position with full healthcare benefits.

Location: Ascension Eastwood Behavioral Health – 29451 Greenfield Road

Schedule: Full-time, 9-5 with specific days to be determined

At our Ascension Eastwood Behavioral Health Southfield location, our care team diagnoses and treats behavioral health conditions, including mental illness and substance abuse disorders. We care about how these conditions can affect our patient’s physical and emotional health. Our care team also offers programs that address drug and alcohol addiction, family conflicts, social isolation, and more.

What You Will Do

Provide behavioral health counseling services.

• Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.

• Administer individual and group therapy. Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations.

• Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.

• Provide patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.

• Work directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• One or more of the following required:

• Licensed Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

• Licensed Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

• Licensed Psychologist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

• Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any issuing authority accepted. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required.
