Join our family of dedicated, highly valued Tech in the Med/Surg Observation Unit at Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi, Michigan.

Full Time ; 24 hours a week, 2- 12 hour shift

Shift: 7:00am to 7:30pm with every other weekend (Friday and Saturday night) rotating holiday schedule.

Unit Description : Medical/Surgical Observational Unit (3C):

17-bed Medical/Surgical Unit dedicated to the care of the medical patient. Specialty care includes care for some surgical patients and care for the elderly patients. Patient teaching and discharge planning are major components of nursing care on this unit. A focus on relationship-based care combined with advanced medical surgical nursing allows us to care for the changing needs of these patients throughout their stay.

What You Will Do

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

• Aid with movement and placement of patients.

• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.

• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.

• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.

• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
