• Department: Associate Travel Program – Surgical Services

• Schedule: Multiple shifts available, 40 hours per week

• Hospital: Multiple Ascension acute care hospitals

• Location: Requires travel to various locations more than 50 miles away from primary residence

This position is a permanent, full time position made up of travel assignments – not a short term option or temporary contract.

Responsibilites

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.

• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.

• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures.

• Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Preferred Credentials:• BLS Provider.

• Approved Local Exception.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degreerequired.

Work Experience:

• None required.

Additional Preferences:

• One year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist strongly preferred.

• Travelers must be willing to travel 50+ miles from permanent residence.

• Travel positions require travel to multiple locations and could include assignment selections in: Alabama, Illinois, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin
