Position Summary

Purpose of the Job

This position is responsible to select and manage suppliers for products and services, in order to contribute to the ASCO business objectives, following the Procurement and Commodity strategy, and maintaining a corporate approach at all times.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Supplier Selection
  • Based on internal request to procure a service and/or product, coordinate and take the lead to present the best recommendation to the Procurement Committee.
    • Prepare the Request for Quotation (RFQ) file and bidders list.
    • Analyze suppliers proposals
    • Prepare business case for Procurement Committee
    • Commercial and contractual negotiation
    • Act as a Supply Chain Project Leader (SCPL), when appointed. Coordinate activities between ASCO stakeholders and procurement members to achieve project milestones
  • Supplier Management
    • Being responsible for the relationship with assigned suppliers, this position has to closely follow up global supplier performance and based on the strategy defined by the Procurement Manager, further develop the suppliers that have been identified as Strategic and Develop
      • Coordinate and manage suppliers performance based on the 4 pillars through regular management meetings
      • Manage and negotiate contract with the supplier, taking into account back-to-back requirements from the customer
      • Balance total cost of ownership
    • Financial Follow-up
      • Being responsible for the suppliers, participate in budget activities in order to support collaboration and follow the company s budget.
        • Prepare yearly budget for the purchases under this position s responsibility
        • Define extra cost reduction activities to optimize Total Cost
        • Follow-up financial performance on a monthly basis for both BOM and out of BOM purchases
        • Monitor suppliers revenue evolution at corporate level
        • Monitor suppliers annual financial results
      • Market Knowledge
        • Must be aware of suppliers core business and technological competences in order to understand suppliers position within the market.
          • Understand suppliers capabilities, investments plans, development projects and financial situation
          • Maintain supplier database
        • Commodity Knowledge
          • Develop technical and commercial understanding linked to products in the Commodity under this position s responsibility in order to understand and support the operational business requirements.
            • Participate in establishing the long term sub-commodity plan
          • Contract Management
            • Must possess knowledge of contract terms.
            • Must maintain commercial contracts with suppliers.
          • Risk Management
            • Perform risk assessment in the supplier selection, development and serial production process in order to define the appropriate mitigation plan.
              • Identification, mitigation and escalation of possible risks in order to support the operational business requirements
              • Evaluate risk of supplier becoming competitor to ASCO Industries

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

Four year degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain and a minimum of 3 years relevant procurement experience or 5 years equivalent procurement experience ( Supply Chain Certification, a plus.)

Experience:

• Experience in Commercial procurement skills
• Must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; capable to interact with senior management at suppliers
• Flexible attitude, well organized and efficient.
• Must have technical knowledge in manufacturing commodities (Aerospace Manufacturing and Products, preferred)
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Access database experience including database management required.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Must possess strong communication skills and effective writing skills in the English language. These skills are essential for writing reports, protocol, generating documents, communicating with customers and vendors, etc.
• Independent and able to work with minimum supervision
• Takes initiative and displays a pro-active no-nonsense attitude
• Must possess manufacturing/procurement business acumen
• Stress resistant
• Team player; the ability to work well with others in a team-based environment.
• Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel – domestic and internationally – approximately 25%
