ASG Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer. this role can be either CONTRACT OR PERMANENT. This role is primarily migration from a SAN to Azure we are looking for a Senior Azure Support Engineer solving customer problems, providing proactive support advice, promoting service quality and enhancements for our Federal Government customer.

The role

• Help solve technically complex Azure / VMWare incidents
• Responsible for the Azure customer support experience for the Department
• Own, troubleshoot and solve customer technical issues, using collaboration, troubleshooting best practices and transparency within and across teams
• Identify cases that require escalation (either technically or strategically) with Microsoft or other third party providers
• Create and maintain incident management requests to product group or engineering group
• Contribute to automation and other digital self-help assets to improve customer and engineer experience
• Provide knowledge sharing, technical coaching and mentoring
• Drive technical collaboration and engagement outside of the Department Cloud Operations team

Your skills

• Microsoft Azure Architecture – Fundamentals of Fabric, Compute, Storage
• Conceptual knowledge of Azure VMWare deployments and administration
• Familiarity with OS Internals concepts, built-in diagnostics, Active Directory and Security (Windows and or Linux)
• Understanding of Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration
• Familiarity with SAN/NAS, Hyper-V/VMWare, iSCSI
• Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, NAT, DNS
