ASOS Hiring for Platform Delivery Lead – Mobile Apps at London Full Time

We are looking for a Platform Delivery Lead to join the ASOS Technology team to lead and own the capabilities within the Customer Experience landscape that involves enhancing our Mobile experience. This critical role is part of the department’s leadership team and reports directly into the Head of Technology for Mobile Apps.

You will be at the heart of shaping our customer’s experience within our native applications and use data to power our growth here at ASOS. You will ensure we continue to pioneer incredible solutions that change the way our millions of customers can access fashion on our iOS and Android apps. You will be motivating and working closely with internal and 3rd party Engineering Teams, Platform Leads, Engineering Managers, Product Managers & Architects. The role is empowered and ever-changing as you ensure they have the direction and support needed to build new features for our users on platforms with high availability and at huge scale. With the potential of making an impact on millions of customers on our apps that have been visited over 1 billion times with over 23 million downloads on Android, and 45 million downloads on iOS in 2021. We take a native-first approach in building the Apps that have been featured by Apple and Google many times over.

What you will be doing:

• Building and leading your teams on delivery; seeking to bring out the best in all team members (both permanent and third party), aligning their responsibilities with their strengths and career goals, seeking high engagement, performance, and retention.
• Work closely with other platform teams/ project management/ release management, which may be dependent on or impacted by changes in the platform scope or technical implementation.
• Managing and owning a roadmap with clear milestones and dependencies that best balances the business and technology objectives. Working with product management, engineering teams and other dependencies to align on delivery against those milestones.
• Being the recognised authority for your domain and technology approach. Identifying enhancements, innovations, and continuous improvements within the platform, supporting the improvement in conversion, customer satisfaction, scalability, security, maintainability and balancing these with new features.
• Managing third party engagements, ensuring we have the right mix of permanent and third-party engineers in each area.
• Proactively monitor production performance to help guide future development and opportunities for technical or functional improvement.
• Build and improve relationships with 3rd party suppliers. Ensuring we can maximise value from those partnerships.
• Collaborating with stakeholders and product managers on status reporting, identifying and understanding problems to solve, continuously reviewing and prioritising roadmap and backlog items.
• Own and continuously improve the delivery process, including testing, build and deployment and code quality. Embrace and advocate Agile ways of working in technology and the wider business team.
• Leading the strategy of the Apps team: Bringing in new initiatives and innovation. As well as owning the relationship with Apple & Google to elevate both platforms.

What you will need:

• A credible influencer with a strong background in leading agile delivery and performance at scale, with experience of the following:
• Working in a large and complex Technology department with a variety of technologies and agile way of working.
• A strong background in software delivery in a data driven environment who understands the Software Development Life Cycle having previously worked in Project Management / Agile Delivery roles.
• Strong stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills, proficient about understanding the range of stakeholders, customer and technical perspectives in all you do balancing complex and competing needs.
• Strong financial/budget management experience
• Experience in building and executing complex road maps with the ability to communicate strongly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leading both internal and external teams and working with a combination of onshore/offshore/nearshore and remote working teams.
• Experience working with Apple and/or Google mobile applications.
