Position: Medical Data Entry Specialist
Salary: $45,000, plus competitive benefits packages
Location & Hours: Ronkonkoma, NY – 37.5 hours per week
Availability: Immediate
Position Summary:
The Medical Billing Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for data entry for multiple programs and processing daily transactions as they directly relate the revenue cycle.
Responsibilities:

• Accurately post client payments onto the electronic revenue cycle platform.
• Process and manage multiple insurance reports to ensure accurate client insurance information is housed in the billing application(s) needed to secure payment from third party insurances
• Verify accuracy on all patient encounter forms submitted for processing or billing
• Compare diagnosis, procedure code information and services provided to meet program specific regulations to ensure that appropriate services will be counted as meeting billing requirements
• Data entry of program specific service codes, for services and treatment received, into the EHR
• Communication with administrative staff, billing coordinator and specific program staff about missing or inconsistent information for claims submission process
• Follow up/communicate the status of documentation requirements with Billing Administrators and specific program staff with respect to missing/inaccurate claims data
• Follow all work processes/procedures, while maintaining compliance to the rules and regulations set forth by the agency
• Strive to deliver high-quality results at all times in accordance with agency standards
• Protect and keep all client information confidential
• Accepts ownership for all tasks and responsibilities assigned
• Actively explore new educational pursuits to improve job knowledge and skills

Qualifications:

• One year of experience in entering payments and operations data into electronic records
• Must exhibit excellent computer skills; ability to manage multiple systems as needed (Cerner, EPaces, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and multiple E.H.R. platforms)
• Must have good working knowledge of electronic data management systems, accounting principles, and electronic revenue cycle operations; or the ability to quickly develop in proficiency to meet the demands of the position
• Must be a self-starter, exhibit above average critical thinking, communication and analytical skill
• Strong organizational and time management skills
