Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a Reverse Engineer II with expertise in Software Defined Radios. This position will play a critical role on our Systems Analysis and Exploitation (SAE) team, which is composed of experts in RF and microwave engineering, computer security, system vulnerability analysis and software engineering. At AIS, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the research and development of innovative software solutions in support of multiple R&D efforts.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop moderately complex test programs, processes, and systems to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services.

• Write moderately complex test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluate the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications.

• Gather test data and evaluate the results of tests to determine if product designs and architecture meets customer specifications and performance expectations.

• Develop moderately complex test simulations to evaluate how products react under different conditions and analyze product failure to assess the integrity and reliability of product performance.

• Debug moderately complex test hardware and software.

• Analyze test cases and scenarios and report results.

• Apply non-standard test techniques where normal procedures do not fulfill testing needs.

• Select and set-up specialized test equipment and apparatus of a wide diversity.

• Provide engineering recommendations and resolve integration/testing issues.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline and 2 years experience working in an engineering function OR equivalent combination of education and experience

• 1 year experience in Embedded systems and Internet of Things (IoT) penetration testing skills

• 1 year experience in C/C++ and object-oriented design knowledge required, including development, debugging, and testing skills

• 1 year hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby, especially in the context of penetration testing and vulnerability analysis

• Experience with software-defined radios and GNU Radio

• Advanced knowledge of wireless protocols and networking

• Experience with RF test equipment and antennas

• Familiarity with digital signal processing and signal conditioning

• Must be well grounded in the foundational elements of RF and microwave engineering, computer security, system vulnerability analysis, and software engineering

• Understanding the design and implementation of applications with highly optimized and scalable architectures

• Experience with developing software for multiple operating systems

• Solid understanding of network fundamentals, including use of network analysis tools such as Wireshark and Nmap

• Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance

• Travel less than 10%
