Primary responsibilities will include;
Design, develop, test, maintain and document program code in accordance with user requirements, and system and technical specifications.
- Researching, consulting, analysing and evaluating system program needs.
- Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods.
- Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications.
- Programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification.
- Writing and maintaining program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards.
- Writing, updating and maintaining technical program, end user documentation and operational procedures.
- Providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades.
- Help ensure all project targets have been met within the test plan
- Ensure all measurements and metrics have been maintained.
- Determine severity for any defects identified and manage escalation and resolution path.
- Responsible for defect tracking for projects under their control.
- Attend meetings and conference calls.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following attributes,
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in IT highly regarded.
- Business orientation with strong IT background.
- 5+ years’ experience in Testing and Support in a Financial Services environment is essential.
- Billing Systems experience required, and Credit Card or Consumer Finance experience is mandatory.
- Experience in Postilion and EFT domain is preferred.
- Experience in working in a support role, providing a service to internal or external customers is mandatory.
- Should have experience working in Migration projects and Web-services.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Implement improvements to standard testing processes, metrics and documentation.
- Identify innovative new test activities and procedures to improve the quality of the testing performed.
- Develop comprehensive and accurate test conditions based on defined testing requirements.
- Develop clearly written test scripts based on the defined test strategy.
- Develop comprehensive test execution plans and reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
