Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be engaged in research on molecular mechanisms of mitochondrial diseases. The project entails the assessment of the mitochondrial genome integrity in yeast and human cell cultures, in response to various xenobiotics and/or genetic backgrounds. The RA will also perform selected enzymatic assays in vitro. The candidate will conduct and discuss experiments with the lab head, as well as guide and supervise undergraduate students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Preference will be given to a candidate with a scholarly record in the field of mtDNA maintenance and experience in cell culture work. Additional background in the field of molecular chaperons will be an advantage.?
Minimum Qualifications:Minimal requirements:
M.Sc. in genetics or related field. At least a year of prior experience in laboratory work. Experience in the field of mtDNA replication and yeast genetics. Experience in student supervision.
