Our Marketing team are the guardians of the Auckland Airport brand and customer experience through the many channels we use to communicate. We manage marketing activity across the business, and we advise on how we can use creative and strategic means to solve business challenges. We are looking for a Creative Lead to join our team and to be part of our journey and the customers’ journey.

About the role

In this newly created role, you will lead the overall design and creative direction through to execution for marketing initiatives and advertising in line with our brand guidelines and future business ambitions. You will take our creative output to a new level across physical and digital assets as we continue to grow as a business and look to evolve our brands and associated assets pan-business.

You will work closely with the marketing team in generating work that is of a high design standard and that adheres to strict brand guidelines and principles. This is a multi-faceted design role across Auckland Airport brands and business units.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Leading and reviewing the work of the creative team for all web, print, and digital marketing collateral
• Applying creative flair within established brand guidelines to maintain brand coherence through design elements
• Having the ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of design principles through a background of branding development and conceptualizing cross channel campaigns
• Managing content strategy for both small and large projects, harnessing brand design, copy, art, and digital technology
• Leading the creative design in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, eCommerce manager and wider Mall business division for “The Mall” eCommerce shop and “Mānawa Bay” owned assets across EDMs, digital banners, and any other requirements outside of the agency remit and in line with our guidelines

What you’ll bring to the role

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

• Tertiary qualification in Design, Marketing or Business or equivalent body of knowledge
• 9+ years’ experience in Graphic / Digital Design in a similar role in an agency or corporate setting
• Experience in creating marketing/advertising campaigns, from developing the vision and messaging platform to overseeing production on time and within budget
• Experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print
• Proven ability to develop successful concepts
• Digital design experience
• eCommerce design experience
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, it would be beneficial to have experience in digital design tools such as Figma or Sketch
• Technical finished art knowledge and an exceptional eye for detail
• Strong retail design skills
