Permanent 20 hours per week position, based at New Lynn Library
An opportunity has arisen to join the vibrant New Lynn Hub as a permanent part-time Libraries and Council Services Assistant.
This is a permanent 20 hour per week position that includes a weekend day and is currently worked at New Lynn Library. You will need to be flexible about where you work as you will be working across the Whau Local Board libraries.
Our library whānau is focused on caring for each other, our community and our environment. New Lynn Library is known for promoting and educating about climate action and we want to do more in this (green literacy) space for our local community. We love collaborating with community partners and we welcome people from all walks of life.
We are looking for someone who will muck-in to do whatever needs doing with a smile on their face and in their heart.You will play an active role in daily operations, ensuring patrons have an all-round excellent library experience. Your mahi will include supporting day-to-day operations and the development and delivery of programmes driven by community needs. Every day is different which is what makes it fun!
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Demonstrates an understanding of Te Ao Māori values and principles
Has excellent communication and customer service skills
Can engage and connect with our diverse community
Is confident using technology and able to support and help our customers
Is flexible, reliable, and a supportive team member
Has the confidence to express their ideas and show flair and creativity in their work
Gets involved with events, programmes and activities
Loves working with tamariki and rangatahi and can assist with after school programming
