Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

You have the opportunity to join the Ward 41 Vascular Surgical team as a full time Ward Clerk. This role will see you providing a high degree of clerical support to the health care team and involves a high level of customer contact.

Your duties will include:

• Maintenance of patient’s files, arranging and monitoring patient movement.
• Communicating, liaising and organising follow up appointments and assisting in ward management functions.
• Ensuring patient charts are returned to clinical records
• Ordering of equipment for the ward
• Providing front of house reception duties for patients, families and visitors

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years administrative/clerical experience
• Experience in the health industry is preferred
• Knowledge of hospital systems would be advantageous
• Flexible to do shift work all days of the week
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude and ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
